We are announcing the 2nd round of applications. Applications can be submitted from 1 June to 31 July 2023. Information can be found “Dean´s Measure 10/2023“.

Our faculty offers one bachelor study program „Civil engineering“ taught in English and other six study programmes taught in Czech.
All bachelor programmes can only be studied in full-time form.

These are the two most relevant documents summarizing the conditions and the admissions process to Bachelor’s study programmes at the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague.

What to do

  • Applications of admissions proceedings of the 2024/2025 academic year can be filed from 1. 1. to 31. 3. 2024 via the on-line application.
  • Save your code and password. Successively, you will be able to follow the process of your admissions proceedings directly in the electronic application app. 
  • The study programmes you can choose from are listed here. Only the study programme, NOT the specialization is entered in the application!
  • If you apply to more study programmes, a new application must be filled in for each of them. 
  • To be included in the admissions proceedings, do not forget to close the application.

  • The administration fee at FCE CTU in Prague is CZK 900, approximately EUR 36. The administration fee has to be paid to the account below before submitting the final application. By 31. 3. 2024 at the latest.
    You can select your favourite currency of the Faculty´s bank account. For the current exchange rate visit

    The applicants are recommended to fill in their name and date of birth in the “Notice for payer and beneficiary” (AV field) to identify the payer in the applicant’s payment order.
  • In the case that you are submitting more applications, the administration fee must be paid for each of them separately.
  • The date of entering the bank transfer by the applicant is considered as the date of the administration fee payment.

Entrance examination in Mathematics

  • The entrance examination in Mathematics is identical for all applicants and all study programmes. The number of points scored in the test is crucial for admission. The threshold level for admission is 8 points (max. possible number of points is 20)

    You can also be admitted to the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague without taking an entrance examination in Mathematics. Check Conditions for Entrance Examination Waiver (see Article 5; it is only for Czech and Slovak)

Entrance examination in Architecture

  • This examination is taken only by applicants for the Bachelor degree study programme in Architecture and Building Sciences, which is taught only in Czech. To be admitted to this programme, you must pass both the examination in Mathematics and the examination in Architecture.
  • The entrance examination in Architecture is an oral interview. The applicants submit a motivation sheet, which should demonstrate their interest in Architectural studies, as well as 3 own graphic works (free drawing is preferred) for the interview. The threshold level for admission is 10 points (max. possible number of points is 20).

Validation of foreign secondary school education by 6. 9. 2024

School-leaving certificate in the case of passing the school-leaving examination in the Czech Republic or the Slovak Republic by 6. 9. 2024

All documents are submitted to the faculty only electronically, the applicant uploads the document in the form of a scan to their electronic application.

  • One of the following certificates proving the passing of an examination in English by 6. 9. 2024:
    • certificate of passing the school-leaving or state examination in English,
    • certificate of passing an examination in English at min. a B2 level according to the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”
  • Certificate confirming excellent proficiency in Czech – refers to applicants for study in Czech language by 6. 9. 2023:
    • certificate of passing the school-leaving or state examination in Czech,
    • certificate of passing an examination in Czech at min. a B2 level according to the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”
      – at the Department of Languages FCE – Certified examination in Czech language for study at university
      – or at Departments of Languages of other faculties/parts of CTU
      – or at the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies Charles University – more information about language courses.
 

Since the 2019/2020 academic year, a new Dean´s Measure regulating Recognition of Courses from Previous Studies has been in force.

  • Enrolment will be online via electronic application from June to September. Further information will be published here in May 2024
  • The start of the academic year, i.e. the first day of school is 23 September 2024

Entrance examination in Mathematics

Entrance examination in Mathematics (second round): 5. 9. 2023

This examination is taken only by applicants for the Bachelor degree study programme in Architecture and Building Sciences, which is taught only in Czech. To be admitted to this programme, you must pass both the examination in Mathematics and the examination in Architecture. Applicants for all the other study programmes take just the examination in Mathematics.
