CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO STUDY

  1. Proper completion of study in a Bachelor's degree study programme in a civil engineering, surveying or related specialization.
  2. Passing an entrance examination in English which is an oral interview covering thematic areas of the respective branch.

 

WAIVER OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The entrance examination may be waived by the Dean to foreigners (except for applicants from the Slovak Republic), who apply for study in the branch of Building Structures, if they present justified reasons for the waiver and present a proof of corresponding knowledge of English in their application. The application form must be accompanied with a justified written request for the waiver of the entrance examination.

 

THE APPLICATION FORM MUST BE SUPPLIED WITH THE FOLLOWING ENCLOSURES:

  • Transcript of all courses completed in the Bachelor's degree study programme specifying the number of credit units and evaluation achieved confirmed by the Faculty in English
  • Transcript of the results of the final graduation examination confirmed by the Faculty in English
  • Authenticated copy of the original of the Bachelor's degree diploma and its translation into English or Czech
  • Original or authenticated copy of Bachelor's degree study validation issued in the Czech Republic
  • Certificate of corresponding knowledge of English (FCC, TOEFL, a School Leaving Examination Certificate)
The above-mentioned documents are not enclosed by the graduates of Bachelor's degree study programmes at FCE CTU.
  • Potential additional enclosures certifying cooperation with practice, publication activity, participation in foreign study stays, participation in professional competitions and exhibitions of works, language knowledge etc.
  • Proof of administrative fee payment (see below)

Neither a Curriculum Vitae nor a Doctor's Certificate are obligatory part of the application form.

The applicants who still have not completed their Bachelor's degree study at the time of submitting their application shall submit a transcript of the results of the final graduation examination during the entrance examination and an authenticated copy of the Bachelor's degree diploma no later than at registration for study.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU does not accept application forms of applicants who have already studied twice at the Faculty in any Master's study programme without success. Nor does the Faculty accept application forms of applicants who were expelled from study at FCE CTU in a disciplinary proceeding under Art.2 of the Disciplinary Code for the Students of CTU in Prague.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE

in the admission procedure: Kč 500,-
Bank connection: Komerční banka Praha 6, account No. 19-5504610227/0100, constant symbol 379, variable symbol 267.

The fee may be settled by a postal order of type A or by bank transfer. The Faculty postal order is available at the Student Registrar.
A proof of the administrative fee payment to the Faculty account must be enclosed to the application form.
Once the application for study is registered at the Faculty, the administrative fee cannot be returned.
Foreign applicants for study may apply for a waiver of the administrative fee.

 

ASSESSMENT OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION RESULTS

In the selection procedure, the Board shall consider mainly the following:

  • affinity of the completed study programme
  • study results in Bachelor's degree study - study average, length of study
  • level of the Bachelor's thesis and results of the final graduation examination
  • further activities - e.g. cooperation with practice, publication activity, participation in foreign study stays, participation in professional competitions and exhibitions of works, language knowledge etc.

 

NOTIFICATION OF ADMISSION PROCEDURE RESULTS

A decision on the result of the admission procedure shall be received by each applicant in writing.
The applicant may apply for a review of this decision. A written application is submitted to the CTU Rector through the Faculty Student Registrar within 30 days after the delivery of the decision.
Foreign students are not obliged to pay for study in English at FCE CTU.
