The applicants who have complied with the conditions above will be admitted to study in the order of their total recalculated number of points gained in the admission procedure, maximally in numbers filling individual study programmes specified in par. 8 to capacity. If more applicants have the same number of points as the applicant in the last place pursuant to par. 8, all these applicants will be admitted.

2. The entrance examination to the study programme of Architecture and Building Engineering consists of two parts:

  • written part - a test in Mathematics,
  • oral part - an interview in Architecture

The test in Mathematics covers secondary school subject matter as specified in the Dean´s Directive.

In the oral part of the entrance examination, the applicants will submit 4 works:

  • 1 motivation sheet to manifest the applicant´s interest in the study programme (it may be e.g. a short passage entitled "Why have I chosen the programme Architecture and Building Engineering?", a collage from photographs of favourite structures or interesting architectural details, etc.) - the content and form of the motivation sheet are unlimited, but the sheet will become the basic background material for an interview during the oral part of the admission procedure. The sheet must be created specifically for the admission procedure (no seminar projects from secondary school or collages made for student competitions etc. will be accepted).
  • 3 own graphical works on free topics related to architecture, landscape or urban planning produced by any graphic technique (freehand drawing is primarily preferred) -outputs from computer programmes may account for max. 1/3 of presented works; the graphic works assessed, however, exclude drawings from descriptive geometry and related pieces of drawing.

The applicant may also bring an unlimited number of other background materials to the interview to manifest interest in architecture and building engineering (i.e. e.g. awards for secondary school research activity, proofs of participation in student competitions, etc.).
The assessment procedure of the oral examination in Architecture is specified by the Dean´s Directive.

3. The entrance examination to study programmes of Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství, Geodesy and Cartography and Civil Engineering consists of one part:

  • written part - test in Mathematics.

The test in Mathematics covers secondary school subject matter as specified in the Dean´s Directive.
The applicants for study in the programme of Civil Engineering take an entrance examination in English.

4. The minimum number of points for the entrance examination necessary for admission to study:

Study programme of Architecture and Building Engineering:
at least 8 points for the examination in Mathematics (maximum possible number of gained points: 20),
          at least 10 points for the examination in Architecture (maximum possible number of gained points: 20);
Study programmes of Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství, Geodesy and Cartography, Civil Engineering:
at least 8 points for the examination in Mathematics (maximum possible number of gained points: 20).

5. The minimum total recalculated number of points in the admission procedure necessary for admission to study:

Study programmeArchitecture and Building Engineering460
 Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství400
 Geodesy and Cartography400
 Civil Engineering400

6.The algorithm for the calculation of the total recalculated number of points in the admission procedure:

The assessment of the admission procedure results consists of 20% of the applicant´s study results in the subject of Mathematics at secondary school and 80% of the results of the entrance examination.
The total recalculated number of points in the admission procedure (max. 1000) is calculated using the formula

for study programme of Architecture and Building Engineering:

          1/3 (800 - 200 . P) + 20 . M + 20 . A

for study programmes of Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství, Geodesy and Cartography, Civil Engineering:

          1/3 (800 - 200 . P) + 40 . M

where: P is the mean average (expressed as two decimal places) of all marks in the subject of Mathematics written on reports for the second half-year of the last four years of secondary school (for applicants who take school-leaving examinations in the 2012/2013 school year, the mark for the first half-year of the final year is considered),
M or A respectively are points gained in the entrance examination in Mathematics or Architecture.

If an applicant completed secondary school abroad (not applicable to the Slovak Republic), they will only be assessed on the basis of their results gained in the entrance examination, and the total number of points is calculated using the formula

for study programme of Architecture and Building Engineering:       25 . M + 25 . A
for study programmes of Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství, Geodesy and Cartography, Civil Engineering:       50 . M

7. Applicants to study programmes of Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství, Geodesy and Cartography, Civil Engineering who successfully solved at least the regional round of Secondary School Research Activity, Olympiads, or competitions on a comparable level and prove this fact by a respective diploma, will have their total recalculated number of points gained in the admission procedure increased by 40 points. For applicants to the study programme of Architecture and Building Engineering who successfully solved the competitions above, this fact will be considered within the oral part of the examination in Architecture.

8. Maximum numbers of students admitted to study:

In study programmeArchitecture and Building Engineering 380
  Civil Engineering/Stavební inženýrství1320
  Geodesy and Cartography 170
  Civil Engineering 50

9. Conditions for the waiver of the entrance examination in Mathematics:

The Dean will waive the entrance examination in Mathematics to the applicants who completed secondary school in the Czech or Slovak Republic, passed the school-leaving examination in the 2012/2013 or 2011/2012 school years and comply with at least one of the conditions below:

  1. On their reports for the second half-year of the last four years of secondary school they have minimally three marks in the subject of Mathematics. The mean average of all marks in Mathematics on these reports is no greater than 2.00 (applicants who take school-leaving examinations in the 2012/13 school year enter data from the report for the first half-year of the last year instead of the second half-year of the last year).
  2. They have successfully passed the common part of the state school-leaving examination (státní maturita) in Mathematics with the excellent result.
The entrance examination waiver is not subject to special application.
