For efficient energy use, underground storage can be considered. The territory of the Czech Republic is crisscrossed by a large number of mines. Unflooded mines provide suitable spaces for storing low- or high-energy heat sources, while flooded mines are suitable for utilizing natural energy potential. The Faculty of Civil Engineering operates the Josef Underground Laboratory, where energy storage issues are addressed in practice. The topic of the thesis is related to specific applications and research in real underground conditions. In particular, it involves the evaluation of experimental work related to heat storage in underground works and rock environments.
