Abstract(semestr B232)
Studio work is the subject of an application in which students are combining the lessons learned from a wide spectrum of architectural disciplines with their own opinion and artistic creativity.The subject of the award are residential houses and buildings for housing, located in a particular environment. Emphasis is placed on creativity of students, the relationship of the proposal on a specific urban environment and the realism and sophistication of the architectural and building technical solutions, quality, aesthetic design, including technical and material details. During the course held presentations on the current architecture, sub-award task-related issues, the consultation proposals. The project itself is processed at the level of architectural study. Foreign and Czech students are taught together in order to get an opportunity to debate architectural issues.
Content 
The content of the subject 129DS1 is a design of a residential building in the context of a specific location with real circumstances, including an adequate cultivation of the surroundings.
The studio activities’ goal is the comprehension of the process of architectural design, and the improvement of creative, technical, communication and presentation skills of the students. In the 129DS1 studio, the students work in international teams of 2 or 3 people. They deal with the semester assignment together, discussing ideas and concepts, bringing into the project the experience from their home universities, together they prepare presentations. At the end of the semester the students submit their semestral work in an extent similar to the rest of the students’ of the Department of Architecture.
A four-day workshop in the Faculty’s educational center in Telč is part of the teaching.
Free-hand sketches true-to scale are expected as well as verification of variant designs on axonometric and perspective sketches, and working models. The result of the team semestral work is an architectural study including the basic construction and material solution.
