Abstract(semestr B241)
This module offers an overview of bridge elements, construction techniques, bridge loading an analysis. After the introduction and differentiation of basis static systems, the bridge nomenclature is discussed to equip the student with the necessary terminology, the superstructure is discussed from perspective of concrete and steel as the main materials. Bridge loading for traffic loads and analysis are illustrated in detail with the support of influence lines. Necessary care is devoted the the construction techniques and analysis of different basic bridge types.
Content 
The course Basis of Bridge Design is focused on principal problems related to design of bridges - spatial arrangement and equipment of road and railway bridges, types of bridge structures and technologies of construction of bridges.
