Passwords, certificates and the electronic signature

CTU password

The CTU password is the master password for managing access within trusted University-wide and Faculty applications. (Usermap, FCE Login portal, KOS, ...)

Issuing a password
If you are a first-time student at CTU, you can obtain the CTU password via the First Password application. In all other cases, the password is available for students at the CTU ID Card Issuing Office. Students can set up a validated private e-mail address as one of the channels at forgotten password recovery.

Employees and partners can obtain their password via the CTU ID Card Issuing Office or through the CTU password managers for FCE (Room D-2079, phone 9700). We recommend using the ID Card Issuing Office services and combining the first issue of the password with obtaining the CTU ID card. In the case of external staff members, it is also possible to use password change by phone.

Password validity
The password validity is limited to 365 days from the last change. After this period, you will not be able to log in to any system with your password. The applications listed in the first paragraph will inform you when your password is about to expire. No e-mail notifications are sent. If you receive such an e-mail, it is a fake and delete the e-mail.

Password change, forgotten password
All information on what to do in these situations can be found on the University VIC website.

Other details

EDUROAM password

The eduroam password is used to access the eduroam global roaming Wi-Fi network and to connect remotely to the Faculty network using the Faculty VPN.

Getting the password
The eduroam password is set by the user after logging into the Usermap application. Go to your user profile, open the Settings and Setting Eduroam Password. Then follow the instructions.

Caution!
The eduroam password is transmitted over the air and is therefore less secure by the nature of transmission. Always set an eduroam password different from the CTU password or other passwords that are important to you.
