Anotace(semestr )
Computer-Aided Structural Design has been implemented as an optional compulsory course which provides students to gain knowledge in a computer-aided design and analysis of reinforced concrete structures. The objective of the course is to demonstrate the practical use of selected FEM software for the limit state design of various concrete structures. Namely, the focus is on computational models, reinforcement design, numerical modelling, crack control, deformation control and internal forces distribution.
Obsah 
The course Computer-Aided Structural Design is a compulsory optional subject aimed at providing students with knowledge in the design of reinforced concrete and masonry structures using modern computational tools. The objective of the course is to demonstrate the practical application of selected software employing the finite element method (FEM) for the reinforcement design of various concrete and masonry structures according to the limit state method. The course specifically focuses on creating computational models, detailed reinforcement design, numerical modeling, determining internal force distributions, and verifying crack widths and structural deformations.
1.-2. Introduction to the course, FEM software, structural design methodology
3.-4. Reinforced concrete slab – 2D slab model, load application, mesh setup
5.-6. Reinforced concrete slab – reinforcement design, ULS and SLS verification
7.-8. 3D computational model of the structure – modeling of masonry elements, climatic loads and elastic foundation
9.-10. 3D computational model of the structure – reinforcement design, ULS and SLS verification
11.-12. 3D computational model of the structure – result evaluation, structural analysis report
13. Review of homework assignment
